27 February - expect our Human Rights Act to pass into law

The notice paper outlining the business of the Queensland Parliament today tells us that the Attorney General will make her second reading speech about the Human Rights Bill today.

If nothing goes wrong, we can expect our Human Rights Act to become law tomorrow.

The Queensland Government has taken this historic step in response to our movement of people who want our rights to freedom, respect, equality and dignity to be protected in law.

Tomorrow, at Parilament House in Brisbane Queensland will become the third Australian jurisdiction where Human Rights are enshrined in law.
