The movement for a Human Rights Act for Queensland has been gaining momentum for over three years. It has been two years since the Queensland Government promised us an Act. The government has now committed to introducing the bill this year.

The campaign for a Human Rights Act for Queensland is teaming up with the Queensland Council of Social Service to talk with Queenslanders about what a Human Rights Act is, what it might contain, what the benefit will be and how we can continue to build momentum.

Join us for a keynote presentation by Scott McDougall, Anti-Discrimination Commissioner of Queensland, followed by a diverse panel of experts and campaigners who will reflect on the importance of a Human Rights Act in their specific domain.

This event will examine a range of issues related to human rights, including the process and challenges associated with the development, implementation and enforcement of human rights charters, and most importantly what a human rights act in Queensland will mean for Queenslanders and Australians more broadly.
