Legal Affairs and Community Safety Committee to look at Human Rights Act for Queensland

Today Queensland’s Attorney-General moved that the Legal Affairs and Community Safety Committee inquire into whether Queensland needs a Human Rights Act.

The Attorney-General said that “this is an issue that many people in Queensland are passionate about and have advocated in favour of.”

The Committee has been asked to report by 30 June 2016 about whether Queensland needs a Human Rights Act and what the Act should contain.
